The Highway Rat

Women Unscene Community Theatre Project  is back with a special retelling of the popular children’s favourite “The Highway Rat” by Julia Donaldson. This year we have joined forces with our Story Box Community Theatre Project. It tells the tale of a ravenous rat who craves buns, biscuits and all sweet things. Tearing along the highway, the rat searches for sugary treats to steal, until his sweet tooth leads him to a sticky end. Using larger than life characters, puppets, classic storytelling, rhymes and wordplay, this is a new special retelling of the story specially performed for free to the local community by members of the Women Unscene and Story Box Community Theatre Project.

Performance notes:
-There is no interval
-Running time approx. 30 minutes
-There will be a small collection held at the end for anyone who wishes to donate any spare change towards our community projects.
-Please note that we will be filming our performance for our evaluation.
-All children must be accompanied by an adult.
